Professor Bazelon will join our symposia in California, though her Kentucky Law Journal article will be circulated and impact insights and conclusions shared at our Baltimore symposium. Professor Bazelon is the Clinical Teaching Fellow for the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Before joining Hastings' faculty, Professor Bazelon was an associate at Caldwell, Leslie & Proctor. From 2001-2008, she worked as an attorney in the Los Angeles Federal Public Defender's Office, where she tried felony cases and also worked on habeas and death penalty matters. Before that, Professor Bazelon was a law clerk to the Honorable Harry Pregerson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Professor Bazelon regularly writes opinion pieces and articles about legal issues. She received her J.D. in 2000 from New York University School of Law, where she was a member of the Juvenile Rights Clinic and an Articles Editor for the NYU Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in 1996.
